Sizzling Sunday

Yes indeed, Sunday July 15th was an absolute scorcher! Over 100 brothers, ladies, sons, daughters and grandchildren attended the 2018 Guildford Circle BBQ held at the residence of Hazel Foulkes. In addition, the Circle was delighted to welcome Mgr Tony Barry and Fr Roy Waters. It was surely one of the hottest Circle BBQs on record and keeping cool was a priority. The 'Cantina' hosted as usual by Bro. Guillermo and Mercedes, did a roaring trade! One had to feel sorry for the brothers on the BBQ though. Bro. Dave and Bro. Stephen looked almost as well cooked as the sausages and burgers! To keep spirits up there was a 'Kool' Country & Western band, The Brokeback Mountaineers, who provided musical entertainment throughout the afternoon.

Bro. Guillermo, 'El Mero Mero', with some of the volunteers who erected the tents and placed the furniture the day before the BBQ

The BBQ getting underway at Hazel Foulkes' vast estate
The Cantina is open for business!
A disorderly queue!
The heat is on!
We're out of ice!
We're out of white wine!
A frantic search!
Meanwhile, the sausages and burgers are ready to be served under the auspices of Bro. Dave and Bro. Stephen

The BBQ Boys hard at work!
My sausages are super!
My burgers are the best!
OK, we'll call it a draw!
Around Hazel's estate people are getting into the swing of things eating, drinking and listening to the music.
BBQ Belles!
Cheers!
Meanwhile, back at the Cantina...
The stocks have been replenished!
Yes, we're back in business!
Back at the ranch, The Brokeback Mountaineers are entertaining with their own brand of Country music!
Rumoured to be Ginger Baker!
Keeping cool with a triple tipple!
Cool as a cucumber!
Who's your favourite Country & Western Star Bro. Treasurer? Johnny CASH of course!
Do you know any Country songs Bro. Secretary?
Like a Rhinestone Cowboy getting cards and emails from people I don't even know.....
And who's your favourite Country & Western star Bro. President? Dolly Parton of course, she's a knockout!
It's so hot, I think you should wear your hat Monsignor
Where did you get that hat where did you get that hat?
Cool amongst the shadows!
A quiet pint in the shade
A priviliged supply!
Would you like a swig of my ice cold beer?
No thanks, wine is fine!
Better than watching Wimbledon and the Football
Guess what attraction in Italy they would like to visit?
The best behaved child!
We are well behaved too!
Is there any food left?
They've spotted some sausages!
Last drinks before the afternoon comes to an end. Goodbye!
We've had a great time. Goodbye!
And so have I. Goodbye!
It's been a great day! I wonder if Hazel will let us come back again next year?
I will consider it!
More goodbyes!

That's all until next year Folks. Goodbye!
