October Circle Meeting

The Guildford Catenians were honoured at their October Circle meeting by the presence of Bishop Richard Moth. The Bishop, as many of you are aware, has known Bro. Claude for almost 40 years dating back to when the Bishop was a student at St John's Seminary in Wonersh. Bro. Claude lived next door to the Seminary and used to celebrate Mass there. He often got together with the then Seminarian Richard also with other students including Bernard Longley, now Archbishop of Birmingham.

On the night of the meeting, our resident photographer neglected to bring his camera so Bro. Paul Davies, quick as a flash, stepped into the breach and took the photographs below. He also overheard the conversation at the table which he relayed to me in strictest confidence!

I know you won both the Weybridge Trophy and the Wimbledon Salvers Bro. Mervyn but I understand you were two over par on the 10th hole!

Have you considered wearing spectacles when playing?

You must go to Specsavers like me and the Bishop!
