Fathers & Sons Night

The 764th meeting of the Guildford Circle was held at our current home Clandon Regis Golf Club on Wednesday 5th July. The meeting was combined with Fathers & Sons Night and the register recorded there were eleven sons present along with thirty two brothers and one visiting gentleman. Following the meeting everyone moved into the restaurant area for a three course dinner with wine.

An addition to the usual format, Bro. President had requested that brothers recall a 'Moment of Faith' they had experienced during their lives and on this occasion Bro. Tony Eneh related one such event. There were also humorous contributions from Bro. Geoff Bignell, Bro. Stephen Ballard and Bro. Wally Walsh. Another successful and enjoyable evening.

You're going and that's the end of it!

Guildford Circle Annual Summer BBQ

It's that time of year again and the annual Guildford Catenians BBQ was held at St Edward's Church on Sunday 2 July. Willing brothers helped erect the Marquee on the Saturday so everything was ready for a 1.00 pm start on the Sunday.

As well as family and friends, Guests included the Clergy: Mgr Canon Tony Barry; Fr Roy Waters; Fr Tristan Cranfield, 4th Year Seminarian Scott Colman and Deacon Ian Hunt and his wife Sandy who is the Guildford Parish Secretary. Also present was Jenny Finlayson, Community Participation Co-ordinator for CAFOD Arundel & Brighton Diocese.

The ladies who laboured in the kitchen preparing and serving the food deserve a special mention. They were: Ella Rogers; Susan Bignell; Beth & Rebecca Shaw; Anna Lintott and her mum Snjezana. Musical entertainment was provided by Anthony and Domitille Johnson members of the Farnham based Arc Band.

The weather, a mixture of sun and cloud, remained dry throughout and, under the auspices of Vice-President Bro. Pat Finn, a good time was had by all! See below photographs taken by photographer of the day, Bro. Steve Rowden.
